Hey Y'all Its your favorite SportsGal89! Innnnnnnnnnnnnn the building! Happy New Year and welcome to my first post of the new year. Today is officially January, 1, 2014!!! We made it y'all.
I hope you all had a wonderful celebration ringing in the new year and I hope that like me you are excited for what is to come ahead.
Now let's get down to business...
It's Playoffs!! It's bittersweet, because it means that with playoffs starting it also means that the season is coming close to an end.. AH! But let's not go there just yet.
So it's Playoffs, and the Steelers are not in, I wrote a post about my feelings about that after the game. But I am not bitter, regardless of the news and commentary about the Refs not throwing the flag during Succop's failed kick and then Tomlin saying he is looking forward to being a part of the process that improves the Refs calling ability, etc. At the end of the day, the Steelers shouldn't have rested on a flag to be called properly for their shot in the playoffs. This is a year of development for them, their team has been struggling this season with injuries and losing some key people, and what they should be proud of is getting it together when they did. But I digress because we are supposed to be talking about the teams that actually made the playoffs.
So here is the upcoming playoff picture- Aka "Wildcard Weekend":
Game SportsGal89's picks
Kansas City @ Indianapolis Indy (as much as I like what's
been happening in KC I want to see
what Luck can do--ha ha you like that?!)
New Orleans @ Philly Philly- Riding high on the momentum of
their last few games, they are at home after
beating Dallas and Chip Kelly is proving to be
a great NFL head coach..
San Diego @ Cincy Cincy- I have a rule, you should root for the
the team that beat your team out, and in this
case that should be the Chargers since they beat
us out for the Wildcard spot, but I like what
Cincy is doing out there.. And I want to see
them go for it
San Francisco @ Green Bay Advantage Green Bay- it's going to be freezing
that football is going to be an iceball. Green Bay
open air, it will be a fight for SF. But if they do
I put them being HUGE and if having to go
through Seattle to do it, they will be able to do
it and see another SuperBowl
But what do I know, I am just a #SportsGeek and this is just a guess.. We'll see how it all turns out on Sunday!
That's all she wrote folks, come back on Monday to see how I did.
I'm going to have to disagree on the majority of these. KC rested up practically everyone and giving back-ups some play time. Indy will be confident at home agst a team they beat two weeks ago. But Andy Reid and Alex Smith have experience. Indy doesn't. I think experience beats out youthfulness here. KC wins a close one.
ReplyDeleteYa... Philly looks decent. But New Orleans has the best road record in the NFL the past few years, Drew Brees, and while it might be cold, the weather should be fine. Again, I go with experience. Go Saints.
Ditto on Cincy. San Diego almost lost to the backups of KC. But Cincy and Dalton are inconsistent, but that home record isn't. Bengals convincingly.
San Francisco has 4 more wins than Green Bay. Rodgers is still hurt and threw some ducks out there. If I were you, I'd take advantage of my 'discount double-check.'
