Invasion of the body snatchers- Ohio State Buckeyes Home Opener

Hello i'ts your favorite SportsGal89 Innnnnnnnnn the Buildin'!! Thanks for coming back or for checking me out for the first time. Hope you enjoy what I am about to post.
So today I am bringing you a recap of the Saturday Ohio State Buckeyes Home Opener against Hawaii.

Now don't let the scoreboard fool you. Yes Ohio State won this game, but not in the way that people would have expected them to. Monday night, the Buckeyes had their first game against Virginia Tech (for the recap check my other post) and it was energizing, electric, just something great to watch. For a home opener you expect a remix of that first game the way the Buckeyes had played. Or at least some thing close. But if you watched that game there was something off with the way the Buckeyes played. Usually you anticipate that the Buckeyes are going to be solid on both sides of the ball. with flair equally from the Offense and Defense. But this game was solidly a defensive game, and not that this was a bad thing, but the offense just couldn't seem to pick it up.

Yes Zeke had 3 TDs but the offense just couldn't turn it up. It was weird, much of their yards came from great stops by the defense to get them to the endzone. The offense was playing in my opinion a little sloppy (not setting the ball properly, high spikes, not protecting the QB) and not with the energy that you would expect of a team playing in their first home game.

I wasn't too much of a fan with the QB shakeup either, pick a QB and stick to it. You can definitely see the drastic differences in the style of play between Jt Barrett and Cardale Jones and they both equally need to be developed for the strengths that the other one has and they are lacking. But when you switch them up during the game you do lose a little bit of the space to be able to learn from the mistakes and give your offense a chance to gel better.

I guess you can say i have a different eye for the longevity of this team when I am picking a part what they did wrong considering it was a shut out, but I wouldn't be a fan if I didn't.

We'll see what team shows up when they play Northern Illinois next week. But if it's anything like this team, it will be a struggle of a game.

That's all she wrote folks!
